I was born in Budapest in 1974. I graduated
summa cum laude
at Semmelweis University, Budapest in 1998, and obtained my PhD there in 2002. Between 1998 and 2008, I completed my training and worked afterwards as an assistant professor at 1st Department of Medicine, Semmelweis University. I specialised in internal medicine in 2006. In August 2008 I moved to the Heart Center, Semmelweis University into a new clinical post. My research interests include cellular and molecular mechanisms of cardiac remodelling and heart failure. This has recently extended to stem cell research and cardiac regeneration. I have held longer visiting positions at Harvard Medical School Massachusetts General Hospital, National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, and University of Oulu. I am currently a member of eight scientific societies, regular speaker at Hungarian and international cardiovascular meetings, supervisor in the School of Doctoral Studies at Semmelweis University, and author and reviewer for internationally recognised cardiology journals. In recognition of my scientific and clinical work, I was awarded with a number of prizes and grants, including the latest European Society of Cardiology Research Grant, Hungarian Society of Cardiology Lozsádi Norbert Award, Novartis Foundation Award and Semmelweis University Bozai Award.

Dr. Keltai completed his training in internal medicine in 1971. Since 1966 he is working for the Hungarian Institute of Cardiology, Department of Cardiology, Semmelweis University. For nearly a decade he was the head of the Coronary Care Unit of this Institute, and he has introduced in Hungary several diagnostic and therapeutic methods, like hemodynamic monitoring, intra-aortic balloon pumping, infarct-size measurements, selective intracoronary thrombolysis, coronary angioplasty, etc. He participated in several clinical pharmacological trials dealing with clinical hypertension, acute ischemic syndromes, diabetes and myocardial infarction.

Scientific activities:
Dr. Keltai defended his PhD thesis on the
left ventricular function in myocardial infarction
at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1984. In 2004 he became Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences based on his thesis:
The significance of restoration of antegrade coronary flow in acute coronary syndromes.
He published over 300 papers, abstracts, book chapters, in various periodicals in Hungarian, German, English, Russian, and French. Cummulative IF for papers and abstracts: over 370.

I was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1973. I attended Semmelweis University of Medicine, Budapest (1991-1997). My scientific work was acknoledged with Haynal Imre Award, and got the Scholarship of the Hungarian Republic for 3 years. I accomplished the M.D. degree in General Medicine in 1997. I attended the programme tytled “Physiology and pathophysiology of cardiovascular diseases” at the School of Ph.D. Studies, Semmelweis University, and obtained Ph.D. Degree in 2005 with the theses titled „Experimental and clinical investigations of the arrhythmogenic and antiarrhythmic effects of agents lengthening the action potential”. My postgraduate work was prized with Kúnos István Award in 2003. Cumulative impact factor of my publications is 30.8. The pathomechanism and therapy of arrhythmias are the main fields of my scientific interest. Presently I work as a fellow in cardiology at Semmelweis University Heart Center and also act as a hungarian educational secretary. My husband is Dr. Ádám Demeter, our children are Flóra (11) and Zalán (8).

I was born in Budapest in 1966.
I graduated at Bolyai János Vocational Secondary School and obtained electrical technician qualification. During the school I dealed with school radio, I was interested especially in application of studiotechnics.
In 1985 due to my result at the National Competition of the students of vocational secondary schools I won college entrance at the Budapest University of Technology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering. I graduated in 1991, my achievement was excellent. Electro-acoustics, video-and audiotechnics were at the focus of my personal interest.
In September of 1991 I started to work at the National Institute of Vascular Surgery Department of Diagnostic Radiology as a system engineer. There my job was the operation of CT and MRI systems. Nowadays - after several alterations - this institute is the Department of Diagnostic Imaging of Heart Center. At this place I got in touch with healthcare and since then this conjuction became commitment.
In 1994 I was appointed as the technical leader of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and in 1997 I became the operational leader - from this time I deal with the complex economic and technical leadership of institute of public healthcare.
In 1995 I got postgradual qualification degree of clinical engineering at Haynal Imre University of Health Sciences.
From 2002 I also completed the task of informatics leader of Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of Semmelweis University. In that year I received honourable mention from the Rector as the admission of my work.
In 2003 I got postgraduate qualification degree from healthcare management at Health Services Management Training Center of Semmelweis University.
In 2004 I became director for finance and operations of Department of Cardiovascular Surgery.
In the summer of 2007 I took part in the operational and environmental performance of the complex clinical block and the Heart Center. As part of the Central Administration of Economic and Technical Affairs of the Semmelweis University the Economic and Operational Directorate was established at this time - since 1st of October, 2007 I have been managing this organisation.
Project-management, public-procurement, development of organisation, cost-effectiveness of the medical sector are mainly my special professional interests.
I give lectures about technological, economics, informatics and medical frontiers as an invited performer on congresses and school-method trainings. As judge I take part in work-committees.
I got married in 1989, my wife is working at a forwarding company, we have a daughter and a son.

I was born in Budapest in 1977. I was graduated in Zsuzsa Kossuth Healthcare College in 1996 as a nurse. My professional experience and working places: 1999-2004 Cardiology Care Unit of Erzsébet Hospital, Budapest; 1996-1999 Cardiology Intensive Care Unit of Szent Ferenc Hospital; Intensive Care Unit of the Cardiovascular Centre in Budapest since February 2004.
I was appointed to deputy matron of the Unit on 1st February 2006, and received the “Nurse of the Year” award based on the decision of the doctors’ team of the Clinic in the same year. I have been coordinating several international medicine testing projects since 1st October 2006. I was appointed to matron of the Intensive Care Unit by the director and leading nurse of the Clinic on 1st January 2008. I am pleased that I work at a place where I am appreciated as a person and as a professional member of a good team.

Dr. Sandor Nardai was born in 1983. He graduated with honors at the Türr István Academic Grammar School in his hometown, Pápa. During his high school years he spent 10 months in the United States as a foreign exchange student. He acquired his medical degree at the Semmelweis University Faculty of Medicine with
summa cum laude
distinction. During his graduate years he won four international scholarships. He completed one academic year at the Free University of Brussels, one semester at the University of California Davis Medical Center, and two four-week-long internships in Japan and Brazil. He is fluent in English and French languages.
He actively participated in the public life of the student community as well. He has been a member of the Korányi Frigyes Honor's College of Semmelweis University for six years. For two years he was elected leader of the board of admissions of the honor's college. In 2007 he took part in the reform of the medical curriculum as a member of the student representatives.
Since February of 2008 he has been member of the editorial board of the second oldest Hungarian medical journal, called Orvosképzés. He began to work at the Semmelweis University Heart Center as a medical student in the October of 2007, and currently he is a clinical physician and PhD. student. Besides patient care he is involved in the medical education, and in the research activity of the Heart Center's Laboratory of Vascular Neurology.
