Semmelweis University Heart and Vascular Center is an interventional cardiology center with substantial diagnostic capabilities. It is more than a traditional hospital, since we are able to perform at this clinic several, special different diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in the field of cardiology. Among these are exercise stress test and 24-hour Holter monitoring, echocardiography, CT and MR exams, coronarography and coronary interventions, electrophysiology (catheter-based examination and treatment of different arrhythmias), as well as implantation of different kinds of pacemakers and defibrillators.
As a university clinic, besides preventing and treating diseases, we take a substantial part in all of the universíty's classical "triple" role. There is gradual medical education at our clinic in three languages (Hungarian, English and German). We also take part in postgradual specialty training, preparing the applicants for basic and higher level specialty Board Exams, and we are also integrated into the School of PhD Studies.
The clinical work is accompanied by experimental and clinical research, where well-known international experts provide opportunities for young doctors and medical students for scientific projects.

The aim of the Heart and Vascular Centre management and all employees is constant and high level implementation of health care. Implementation of the ISO 9001:2009 quality management system serves the professional intensity, security, affordability and improved organization of health care in the Heart and Vascular Centre.
